LAND FOR WILDLIFE

The Environmental Art Project (EAP) is an annual initiative encouraging primary school and homeschool students in the Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan to explore local environmental issues, whilst developing their own positive message about protecting ecosystems.

“We cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources, and bring back soils. We are the generation that can make peace with the land”

World Environment Day

In 2025, students across the City of Swan and Shire of Mundaring are invited to create an A4 artwork investigating and depicting their creative ideas for restoring Land for Wildlife*. Through this project, students explored the selected areas of focus to share their ideas for creating healthy, local ecosystems. In addition to the Education Resource pack, school incursions and artist-led workshops guided students to extend and enhance learnings - inspiring a generation of changemakers.

Students investigated how a healthy ecosystem works together to nourish soils, plants and wildlife to create unique artworks promoting what we can all do in our local area to make a difference.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Grow forests – native planting to build nature corridors, plant diversity, the understory and canopy

Create land for wildlife – retain and build habitats to suit different landforms and protect local species

Revive water sources – plant waterway seedlings to minimize pollution and water loss

Investigate how a healthy ecosystem works together to nourish soils, plants and wildlife to create a unique artwork / poster promoting what we can all do in our local area to make a difference.
